Prentice-Hall Inc. Letteread dated August 8, 1949.

I believe this to be Vietnamese stationary circa 1946

A receipt check from the Anglais Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden circa 1947

A blank check from San Antonio, Texas.
So, there I was wondering the earth minding my own business, when all of the sudden BANG! The universe gave me a box of lost belongings. Not just any old stinky box of lost belongings, the best kind…vintage!
Between the years of 1945 and 1956.
This box contained all kinds of seemingly useless garbage. Notes, receipts, stationary, greeting cards you name it.
Why would someone not have thrown this out years ago you might ask?
Sentiment? Hoarder? Well, having known a hoarder or two these belongings were far too preserved to be in the hoarder category. Sentiment would be my best bet.
As per sentimental tradition I could not stand to let these once love items fall to the fiery pits of the incinerator without an equally personal goodbye.
I have decided to create an art series using these items as the base. I am calling the main series Line Travel.
Line Travel will be the series in composing a few sub-series. One of which is grade school autograph book with the cover title My School Day Autographs.

“Class Of 56” autograph book turned sketch book.
I have chose to name this book
Class Of 56 due to the year it was created.
All existing autographed pages have been reversed. I’m drawing a ballpoint illustration on one side. Most of the pages will contain a remark from a child written during the 3rd grade class of 1956 on the back. The
illustration will reflect the remark.

A rebellious teen during the the troubled year of 1956.

The ordinary or plain looking man was called a square.

A Pinocchio reference.
Line Travel Sub-Series: Three Tags Of Terror
The micro-series consists of three railcar tags from the Railway Express Agency. Printed during the year 1945.

Only two have been completed so far. I tried to use an ink quill on the first only to have the line bleed profusely. Blue and lead pencil was used for the other and will continue for the last of the trilogy.
Line Travel sub-series: Drawing On The Ritz

Ritz Hotel (Canada) stationary from 1950. I have one more page and an envelope. Cross woven linen press, man I’m telling you. 60 years and this sheet is still tough enough to take a quill. I imagined a prom chaperone aiming to kill the class of 1950. There he is with that stupid forced grin.
Drawing On The Ritz is a three piece micro series the consists of two stationary pages and a matching envelope from the Ritz Hotel in Ottawa Canada during the year 1949. Only one has been completed so far. The envelope will be illustrated as well.
There will be more micro series to follow including a 1946 Barber college log book turned sketch book. Still untitled.
Update soon to come! thank you for reading.
