I have a lot to say about this My Emo Vortex project, so for now I won’t say much other that this is the cover to the first volume that will be 25 pages in a comic book format. There will be two volumes in this format. After volumes one and two I will create a hardcover reprinting volumes one and two with a third series of art included. Right now my amazingly talented friends Allen Passalaqua and Norman Wong are helping me out with the colors. Here is the cover to volume one. Allen did the color work.
So there I was a some comic convention (Sorry I honestly forgot which one) and there was Shane Houghton and his brother Chris! They were hustling some Reed Gunther comics, which are awesome by the way. I first met them early in the year at a local comic shop I’ve been known to hang around. When I seen them again I asked Shane if he would write a 4 page comic for me as some sort of commission. I told him I intended to draw the commission. I’ve ask writers for commission “sketches” before. Not very many understand exactly what I’m asking. Some of the ones that do just don’t really have time for my unordinary requests. Shane was very busy work the pitch, but he took the time out to fill the request. He asked if I could come back toward the end of the show to get it. I seen him scratching his head trying to think of something on the spot. Here is what he came up with. I did the best I could at drawing this out. As soon as I was finished I swore I could do better, but this is how it shall remain. I hope it gets at least a smirk.
Shane and his brother Chris are examples I hope to follow. Check out their work!
Posting a few things from my art folder folder up on Ebay this week. These are smaller drawings I create when I’m working on bigger projects. These drawings contain all the anger, frustration and shame I have to vent in order to keep a level head pushing through the difficult jobs. These appear to be drawings, but I assure you these pieces have a spark of energy in them, mostly negative though. Not a good sales pitch, but the honest truth. Haunting memories I am more than happy to unload.
Here are a few of the 21 items.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks for looking at more Permo entries. I have been fleshing out a lot of ideas lately. It’s pretty exciting…and exhausting. Been writing a little bit more. Some friends I have seem to enjoy the stories I write, so I need to find time to make those happen. Been inking pages for MY Emo Vortex art book. Trying to raise colorist money by doing sketch covers. I’m on this Grey Alien sketch cover kick that a few people seem to like, so I’m eeking those out as well. Things are a busy! My buddy Rob is almost finished with film school. We have a few things planned for that also. I’ll save writing about that later. Meanwhile here are some more Permo bloopers…
