Here are some new additions to the DCastr’s Bar card series! Some are art trades I was lucky enough to get at the Wilmington Artwalk I participated in. All of my cards are for sale. Unfortunately, the art trades go into my personal collection and are not for sale.
Progress is constant. I hope to find more time to post it!
Thank you for veiwing.
BAR CARDS! This is my personal Sketch card series. This series was created for the simple fact, that I go to bars to draw. I find it relaxing to step out of the drawing room away from continuity projects and draw whatever comes to mind. I often give the sketch cards away to people who show interest and as unwanted tips for servers.
These cards are professionally printed on with uncoated (raw) textured surface on front and UV coating on back. The sketches I take home I later ink and color. Here are the variations and process.
The print run was 500 making them recordable and limited.
I plan to post some on eBay soon. I’ll keep things posted as I go.
Thank you for reading.

I’m very happy to finally have this out and available! It is now up on the new Ebay account and Zarstar studios store. Really lucky to have Norman Wong coloring my work. He makes my lines look much better than I think them to be. I will be making a few store adjustments and will be building up original and print work on Ebay.
There is a bit going on that is too lengthy to type (and to read), so I’ll do my best to edit and condense.
My Emo Vortex #1 now available on the new Ebay page and Zarstar Studios store.
For anyone who purchases anything from Zarstar Studios directly, I’ll send a little original thank you.
The new ebay site it just beginning, so I’ll be running some .99 auctions to build up some transaction numbers. Mostly original sketch cards, and one off drawings that distract me from comics.
Here are some sketch cards I worked on during WonderCon in Anaheim this past weekend!
Here are some tales from the sketch book done this week:
Have a good weekend! Thank you for reading!
Working on a lot of things here at the table, but who cares about what I’m doing? It’s really about what I’ve done. It’s cool, this is pretty much reality. I work on stuff everyday. Sometimes things are simply not ready to show. Sometimes they are not good or polished enough. Just about every day I paint a trading card or work on a sketch cover to relive stress from the long term projects I fight to see the light of day. Honestly a lot of them get shelved, but I’m working on changing this. At any rate here are some stress relievers that sometimes become a bit of stress themselves. They can be unwittingly revealing in hind sight, but this is art and expression. I have no regrets.
Here you go!
Brotherhood of the Snake
Some times you gotta go there.

A lot of things going on. Plans, Product, inks, colors, paints, Comics! I wish I could keep up with posts and updates, but time is a relentless beast I have not yet tamed. My buddy Norm Wong is currently coloring the last 10 pages of a new comic project called Fowl. It’s a Native American Werefowl story of redemption. More about that later.
I’m currently inking pages for another comics that seems to have been on the blocks for a while called SHE That Kills The Dead. Issue 1 is a few pages away from being completely inked! Then the color process begins! It may be a while out though. My plan is to have a the very least two issues complete before it is released. Just so there is a cushion to maintain current and release on deadline.
Working on some album art for my friends The Radioactive Chicken Heads also. That band is so damn fun!
Inking pages for my upcoming art book called MY Emo Vortex.
I know there is a lot of things I’m working on and yet have produced very little. I am very aware of this believe me.
It really is a matter of making enough cash to give it the best quality I can. This has led to a lot of side jobs and juggling, but all well worth it in my eyes. I doubt anyone is as enthusiastic as me to show you guys the things I have been working on while the city has been sleeping, but I have to hold back a little longer. I hope this works….
Meanwhile here are some art card distractions that have kept me company!
An ode to bad breath
I swear I meant nothing dirty by this, but who knows?
…from a Rat faced weirdo
A lot to show and tell about this weekend. So much I got distracted with drawing. Wonder Con was this weekend. Met some people. Caught up with some friends, working on a few projects. Like I mentioned a lot. BUT…another day. For now I show a couple of today’s art card distractions>>>
One Life to live
One Life To Live. You know like the old soap opera….aaaaaah whatever, I didn’t expect you to make any sense of it.
“Hobo Respect” is a term Zara and I coined. It means to have respect for hobos. They have it rough, but still manage to make it on their feet and shuffle through another day. You gotta respect the follow through.
